Why do you end up organising everything?

The group asks about a meal. You already think about dates, tasks and reminders. Nobody appointed you coordinator. Nobody seems surprised.

I am interested in the moment before “I’ll handle it”. Sometimes you answer before hearing the whole question. Knowing how to organise does not mean always wanting to. It does not mean being available.

Changing that habit can feel uncomfortable. I prefer to start with one situation. Which task did you take on without being asked? What did you imagine would happen without your help?

You can write three sentences. “What they asked was…”. “What I ended up doing was…”. “What I wanted to say was…”. You do not need to resolve the difference today.

Family history can offer context. It does not prove why you are this way. It does not tell you what to do. You can say what fits and what does not.

Did you choose to help? Or did you answer before giving yourself time to decide?
